ABERDEEN, S.D. – First-time teachers in the Aberdeen Public School District will have extra funds to set up their first classrooms, thanks to grants from the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation.
The Foundation awarded $200 grants to each of the new teachers from schools across the district. The teachers receiving grants are:
Daniel Weischedel – Aberdeen Central High School ATEC Academy
Joshua Erhardt – Aberdeen Central High School
Seth Martens – Aberdeen Central High School
Chad Woosley – Aberdeen Central High School ATEC Academy
Maggie Adams – Aberdeen Central High School
Kiya Stillman – Holgate Middle School
Travis Netzer – Simmons Middle School
Hailey Tobin – Simmons Middle School
Allison Schmidt – Simmons Middle School
Jeslyn Huinker – Lincoln Elementary School
Eh Tha You Wilkie – Lincoln Elementary Preschool
Tia Swiontek – Lincoln Elementary School and Mike Miller Elementary School
Addison Cumbow – May Overby Elementary School
Kati Johnson – May Overby Elementary School
Chandler Viox – Holgate Middle School
Grace Humann – Simmons Elementary School
Five of these grants were sponsored in memory of Merle Klein and one grant for an elementary teacher in memory of Laverne Tarver. The grants may be used to purchase supplies and items to set up their new classrooms. All new certified staff also received tote bags from the APS Foundation to welcome them.
