This year, the Dacotah Prairie Museum's annual Christmas Tree Lane will include a tree with ornaments made by Aberdeen Public Schools students.
The Design and Modeling classes at Simmons Middle School and Holgate Middle School designed snowflakes that were 3D printed and then used to decorate a tree for Christmas Tree Lane. At Simmons, the class is taught by Mrs. Brittany Conklin, and at Holgate, the class is taught by Mrs. Taylor Barbato.
The tree includes a framed poem, "Yule Be in Our Heart":
"In winter's glow, our hearts unite,
With snowflakes red and spirits bright.
Each flake we made, a crafted part,
A spark of warmth from every heart.
Inside the glass, our wishes gleam,
The hopes and joys that fill our dreams.
Together we have built this art—
For Yule Be in Our Heart."
The tree will be on display starting this Saturday, Nov. 22, and through Dec. 23.
