CHS show choir performing

ABERDEEN, S.D. – This weekend, Aberdeen Public School District show choirs earned numerous awards at the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Executive Showcase competition. 

On Friday, Aberdeen middle school students performed with Holgate Harmony and Simmons Singers. Simmons took Grand Champions, Best Band, Best Choreography and Best Soloist for sixth-grader Lauryn Robinson.

On Saturday, Aberdeen Central High School’s Special Request took first place in the unisex division and had the seventh highest score of the day, missing finals by one place.  

CHS Eagle Express took first place in the open large school category, Grand Champions in finals, Best Band, Best Vocals, and Best Choreography. 

Central senior Jackson Rott received an Outstanding Performer Award and a scholarship to Morningside College.
