Aberdeen Central High School Resource Officer John Kirnan spoke to members of the Aberdeen Area Retired School Personnel on Tuesday about his role with the school district.
Ten group members were in attendance at the luncheon meeting, held at the Flame restaurant in downtown Aberdeen.
Group members listened to Officer Kirnan discuss his role at CHS. The district has had a school resource officer at Central since 1999, he said.
The Aberdeen Area Retired School Personnel meet monthly. The group is open to all former school staff members from Aberdeen and surrounding towns.
Group members attending Tuesday's meeting were from Aberdeen and Groton. Dr. Gayle Bortnem and Mr. Duane Alm, who both also serve on the Aberdeen School Board, were among the former local teachers in attendance.
