Area educators listen to Mr. Cobbs discuss e-sports during Connect CTE at ATEC

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Aberdeen Central High School ATEC Academy welcomed area educators on Wednesday as part of Connect CTE 2023.

Connect CTE is a professional development opportunity for career and technical education teachers from around South Dakota, sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Education. The event provided participants with a variety of career cluster related topics, networking opportunities, guest speakers and industry tours.

On Wednesday, the educators started the day at ATEC. They toured the building, hearing from teachers in various programs and also seeing students working hands-on in classes. The programs highlighted included: culinary arts; child development; ag classes and green house; and media production/e-sports.

Connect CTE events were also held at Northern State University. For more information about Connect CTE, visit the SDDOE website
