Aberdeen Central High School teacher Kerry Konda

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Aberdeen Central High School teacher Kerry Konda, coach of the national champion CHS Debate Team, has been named a Top 4 Under 40 winner. 

Konda’s award was announced Thursday night at the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual ABBY Awards. 

The Top 4 Under 40 program, presented by the Aberdeen Chamber, recognizes the efforts of young leaders in our community and region. 

Konda was selected as one of four winners out of 12 finalists. Along with the ABBY Awards announcement, winners also receive a $250 cash prize and will be publicly recognized in the Chamber Progress Magazine. 

Konda, a social studies teacher, is in his 16th year with the Aberdeen Public School District. 

“Mr. Konda is an outstanding classroom teacher who goes above and beyond to ensure success of his students,” said Aberdeen Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Becky Guffin. “His dedication to the debate program has resulted in outstanding achievements at the state and national level.”
