ABERDEEN, S.D. – Aberdeen Public Schools will celebrate homecoming this week, Sept. 18-24. 

Homecoming week will include various activities around the district, including athletic events, parades and dress-up days. 

Every school—all elementary schools, Holgate and Simmons middle schools, and Central High School—will have dress up days Monday-Friday with various themes. Find images with those dress-up day themes below. 

Additional events will be held across the district next week, with highlights including:

  • C.C. Lee Elementary will hold Eagle Games all day Wednesday, Sept. 20, with around 60 high school students volunteering to run the activities.
  • Lincoln Elementary will hold a Wellness Walk at noon Wednesday, Sept. 20, with members of the CHS cross-country team.
  • Simmons Middle School will hold its Parade at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22.
  • Holgate will have games/activities with CHS football players starting at 10:25 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22.
  • CHS will hold a pep rally at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22.
  • The CHS Hall of Fame Banquet will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23, with the social at 5 p.m. and banquet at 5:30 p.m. Find more information here

The Golden Eagles will have home games all week, with varsity matches scheduled as follows: 

  • Soccer: Monday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. (girls) and 4 p.m. (boys)
  • Volleyball: Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m.
  • Football: Friday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. 

New Streaming Site 

Golden Eagles home games will now be streamed on the district’s new streaming website, Aberdeenstreams.com. This free site includes YouTube channels from all elementary schools, middle schools and Central High School. If you click on “CHS YouTube Streams,” you will find links to this week’s home games for the Golden Eagle football, soccer and volleyball teams.
