Thirty-two students attended the first meeting of the SMS International Club. Our guest speaker was Dr. Chiara Wang. Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Wang moved to the United States to attend graduate school and has been involved with world language programs across the country for more than 20 years. She has a passion for sharing the Mandarin Chinese culture and language, but she has also taught Italian and Spanish to students of all ages. As a certified K-12 Chinese and ESL teacher, she has assisted numerous children and adults who speak little or no English. Every month the International Club invites community members to share their culture and experiences. Thank you, Dr Wang!
