As your child gets settled into the new school year, we encourage you to consider having your student be a part of Youth Power at Simmons. Youth Power is a club open to all 6th - 8th graders. Members pledge to stay drug, alcohol and vape free as well as commit to being a kind, respectful person who makes positive choices every day. Throughout the year, members can join in after-school and evening activities ranging from games and movie nights to volunteering for local organizations. Each event a student participates in will earn then 1 point. Once they have collected at least 10 points, they are eligible to attend an end of the year trip to either Valleyfair or the Omaha Zoo. (Details at a later time).
Youth Power is a great way to make connections at school, build relationships with peers and ultimately give back to the community. Please consider encouraging your child to participate in our student club.
Students can pick up a pledge outside room 126 (Lepkowski) or 127 (Leitheiser). Once they have completed the checklist, students can turn their form into Mrs. Lepkowski or Ms. Leitheiser by the 29th.

Today in Language Arts, our 6th graders took on the Marshmallow Challenge! Working in teams to build a structure filling a written prompt. This activity challenged their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
