It's Cookie Day in 7th grade FACS




The SMS fall social will be held Friday, Oct. 27 from 3:15pm – 5:15pm. This is a middle school dance that will also include an area for activities and games in the cafeteria and an area to play in the auxiliary gym. We are looking for donations of 16oz bottles of soda and fun size candy for the social. Donations can be dropped off at the main office during conferences or any day the week of the social. We are also looking for a few volunteers to help sell pizza and soda at the social. If you can help, please reach out to Dr. Murley at SMS.
The 7th grade Medical Detective students completed a blood typing lab today!


Simmons Middle School Youth Power and Student Senate joined forces today and sponsored a book drawing for 1 free book from our book fair. Almost 60 students went home today with one!

MATHCOUNTS at Northwestern, 8th Grade Individual Awards
Northwestern hosted a MATHCOUNTS competition on Oct 4, 2023. Hailee Steckelberg from Simmons Middle School, placed 4th.

The Golden Eagle Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams will compete in the State Championship Meet on Oct. 21 at Yankton Trails Park in Sioux Falls. The boys race is at 12:00 and the girls will race at 1:30. GO EAGLES!
The AC Cheer and Dance Teams will compete in the State Championships on Oct. 21 at the Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
The event begins at 11:00. Good Luck Eagles!
The 6th grade Design and Modeling students created some pretty awesome birdhouses recently!




In Science 7th graders completed a lab where they had the opportunity to create the stages of Mitosis!



Prevention day in Math!


One of our students shared Tembleque, which means "wiggly." Tembleque is a Puerto Rican coconut pudding. It is one of the most popular desserts in Puerto Rico. Yum!

The Indian Education Program is hosting a Coat Drive to supply any and all families that need some extra resources! Distribution will take place in the cafeteria at Holgate Middle School on October 26th from 5pm-7pm.
