The guest speakers for December's SMS International Club were International Exchange Students, Julie from Germany and Maria from Brazil. Both students attend Central High School and live with a host family. Julie speaks German, French and English, and Maria speaks Portuguese and English. Both girls love American hamburgers, but don't care for the cold weather in South Dakota. The International Club meets once a month and all students are invited to attend!

Congratulations to November 2023 Caught in the Act winner Kennady Thompson, science teacher at Simmons Middle School! She was recognized in the category of being there for others! https://www.aberdeen.k12.sd.us/article/1352454 #AberdeenPublicSchools #GoEagles

We knocked our community service day out of the park! Students volunteered at local elementary schools while others made cards, wreaths, blankets, and centerpieces for nursing homes. Students enjoyed making dog toys for the Humane Society or had fun building care packages for the Avera Cancer Center. Others put together birthday bags for residents at Aspire, and a few homerooms even made bracelets to sell to raise money for Angel Tree gifts! #proudtobeaneagle #asdgoldenhour #goeagles #aberdeenpublicschools

Today, Simmons Middle School homerooms worked on community service projects!
Students at Simmons Middle School also made pumpkin pies today to take home for Thanksgiving!
