
The Boys Basketball Game vs Tea (1/18) has been postponed. The game will be rescheduled for Jan 25.
The Girls Basketball Game at Tea (1/18) has been postponed to Feb. 12.

The Middle School Boys Basketball game vs Huron (1-18)has been postponed. No date has been set. The boys will practice after school.

Boys BB Schedule Change (1/16) for tonight's games vs O'Gorman due to bus issue:
5:30-JV; 7:00-Varsity; 5:30-Freshmen A followed by Freshmen B.

The JV/MS gymnastics dual with Pierre on Jan. 15 has been cancelled due to poor traveling conditions.

The gymnastics meet in Pierre on Saturday (1-13) has been cancelled.

Happy Karen Day! 1/11/24 The Karen New Year, is one of the major holidays celebrated by the Karen people. Karen, pronounced Kah- Ren (emphasis on the second syllable), are indigenous to the Thailand-Burma border region in Southeast Asia and are one of the many ethnic groups from Burma.



The Middle School Wrestling Tournament in Huron scheduled for Saturday (1-13) has been cancelled.

Due to weather conditions in the SE part of SD the following events have been impacted: 1/12 (Fri): Girls Wr @ Harrisburg cancelled, 1/13(Sat): Boys and girls BB vs Tea postponed to 1/18, Boys Wr @ Harrisburg cancelled, Show Choir cancelled.

Such a fun day in 6th grade language arts class! The students performed scenes from "The Phantom Tollbooth"!







The boys and girls wrestling triangular to be held in Yankton on Jan. 11 will be postponed to Jan. 23 due to blizzard conditions in the SE part of SD.

The guest speaker for the January SMS International Club meeting was Randal Madrigal from Costa Rica. Costa Rica is in Central America and has coastlines on the Caribbean and Pacific., and is known for its rainforests and volcanos. Randal lives in Aberdeen with his wife and teaches yoga at the YMCA. He has lived in Costa Rica, New York, Philadelphia and Miami. Randal speaks Spanish and English. The International Club meets once a month, and all students are invited to attend!
