Aberdeen Central kids had a strong night at the Upper Midwest Emmys' student awards. They earned best newscast (live show) and best magazine program (pre-recorded & edited show). Courtney Thorstenson, Emma Pierce, and Rhett Burilovich also earned individual awards.

Good morning. Participants for this year's All-State Show Band are listed below. These students were selected from our All-State Jazz auditions. The show band will rehearse at NSU on May 2-4 and will perform with this year's All-State Show Choir during the performance on Saturday, May 4th. Music will be mailed to schools this week. Congratulations to the following students:

Isaiah Sharp - Trombone 3
Sam Allen - Bass
The softball games vs Watertown and Pierre on 3/26 will be rescheduled for 3/28.
Games will be held in the PC dome. Schedule: AC v Pierre 3:00 followed by Pierre v Watertown and AC v Watertown. Varsity games only.

Special congratulations to Axton Johnson who successfully auditioned into all 3 ALL-STATE instrumental ensembles during the 2023-2024 school year. This is not an easy task to accomplish, and it certainly shows the well-rounded musician that Axton has become.
The School Board meeting for the Aberdeen Public Schools has been postponed until Tuesday, March 26 at 5:30 pm at the District Service Center.
Due to the continuation of the Winter Storm Warning, the Aberdeen Public Schools will be CLOSED on Monday, March 25. Winds are expected to increase overnight with the potential for more snow. Stay safe Golden Eagles!

In order to get folks on the road ahead of incoming weather, tomorrow’s SDHSAA All-State Band Concert at TF Riggs High School in Pierre has been moved from 4:00 PM to 12:00PM.
Due to impending weather the AP European History Trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art is cancelled.
