Twelve school districts received a combined total of over $8.5 million through Governor Dennis Daugaard's Governor’s Grants for Career and Technical Education (CTE). The Aberdeen School District was awarded $2 million for the construction of the A-TEC Academy on the Central High School campus which now offers advanced technical and specialized courses that prepare students for college and/or careers. The grant award was used in conjunction with District and local funds to finance the construction and instructional equipment for the new facility opened Fall 201
