The Simmons Middle School FOR Club meeting in the SMS cafeteria

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Students at Simmons Middle School will be logging acts of kindness from their daily lives as part of the school’s new FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club.

“Every day they log one thing they did to show kindness and one thing they saw,” said FOR Club Advisor Cassidy Neer.

Charting kind acts will help the group develop ideas for a schoolwide initiative, said Neer, SMS PE/Health Teacher.

The FOR Club started at Simmons after a representative from the Rachel’s Challenge Program visited the school earlier this fall.

Neer said around 50 SMS students are now involved in the club, which meets periodically during homeroom in the Simmons cafeteria.
