Excitement describes the night as the freshmen debaters watched results come in live from their first online debate.

The American Indian Circle Program-nsu and the Native American Student Association (NASA) along with co-hosts Wotaku'ye Oyate and International Student Organization invite you to Northern State University’s annual Native American Heritage Event — an evening of storytelling, culture, and community. 🎬 Film Screening: WAR PONY Join us for a powerful screening of War Pony, the award-winning film that follows the intertwined lives of two Lakota boys growing up on the Pine Ridge Reservation. At 23, Bill is determined to make his way to the “American Dream” — hustling through life in whatever way he can. Meanwhile, Matho, only 12, is eager to grow up but quickly learns how complicated adulthood can be. Together, their stories explore identity, family, and resilience in the modern Lakota experience. Winner of the Best First Feature Award at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, War Pony has been praised for its authenticity, heartfelt storytelling, and stunning performances from a local, non-professional cast. 🌟 Special Guest: Jojo Bapteise Whiting — who stars as Bill in the film — will be joining us for the screening! 📅 When: Thursday, November 13, 2025-Pizza, and a Chat for NSU students will be 6:30-7PM.
