This past weekend, members of the CHS Art Club participated in and earned recognition at both the State Art and Art Wars Competitions! Our students earned notable placements across multiple categories at both regional and state levels:
• Alta ThreeLegs earned 1st place in the Drawing category, becoming the State Champion. She also placed 2nd in the State Art Competition in the Cultural Arts category with her piece, "Family Ties."
• Raini LaBrosse earned 2nd place in Digital Art and 3rd place in Ceramics.
• Ken Aumer received 1st place in both the State Art and Art Wars competitions in the Oil/Acrylic Painting category with his piece, "Why Can't They See Me."

Mrs. Braun’s Regional Indian Studies class recently took a field trip to the local Dacotah Prairie Museum! Students had the opportunity to tour exhibits and learn about the land of South Dakota prior to colonization. They explored traditional tipis and lodges used by Native American tribes during that time and engaged with authentic artifacts and intricate beadwork. As part of the experience, students were also given a hands-on lesson in beading, allowing them to create their own pieces inspired by traditional Native American techniques. #AberdeenPublicSchools

A select group of Central High Schoolers had the privilege of attending Lot'o Shakespeare at NSU. A bingo machine deciding the play, Tim Mooney showcased his grand knowledge of the Shakespeare world bringing to life what students study in English. 'Twas a grand affair!
