SANFORD SUMMER PROGRAM INFORMATION:



CHS Staff members Dr. Board, Mr. Briese, Mrs. Hertel, Mrs. Strong, and Mrs. Ketterling recently went to Sioux Falls to visit Jefferson High School to learn about their Freshman Academy. They were able to listen to Dr. Todd Novak and Scott Habeeb who are experts in the field.

CHS Senior volleyball player, Ashley Wangler, signed to continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level! She will be playing volleyball for Dakota State University starting this fall!

Aberdeen Central v Watertown Track and Field dual will be held on April 22 starting at 4:00 at the Brownell Activities Complex. Middle School and High School athletes will be competing.


The Golden Eagle Track Team will not be travelling to Watertown for the Watoma Relays on April 19. The event has been cancelled due to track conditions.

Softball News: Today's game (4-16) at SF Roosevelt has been rescheduled on April 19. Game time is 4:00 and 6:00.
The game scheduled on April 18 vs Washington has relocated to the dome. Varsity game time is 4:00 with JV to follow.


Attention Golden Eagle Athletes: Sanford sports physical dates have been set! If you need a sports physical for the 2024-25 sports seasons, July 18 and August 1 walk in clinics will be accepting patients.


Central Track and Field is back on the road to compete in the Brookings Invite with Brookings, Madison, SF Lincoln, and Harrisburg.

Congrats to Central Alum Abby (Taffe) Trettin '10 as she gets inducted into the SD Amateur Hockey Hall of Fame. Abby was a standout player for the Lady Cougars and played collegiate hockey at Concordia Moorhead. While at CHS she was captain of the volleyball team and NHS officer

Great Day at the SDSU-Optimist Jazz Festival.
Vox 24 placed 1st and Vocal Nation placed 4th in the AA Vocal Jazz category.
Jazz I placed 3rd in the AA 1st Jazz Band category.
Jazz II earned 4th place in the AA 2nd Band category.
Axton Johnson & Grady Anderson earned outstanding soloist awards in the jazz band categories while Gabriel Harmel, Ava Rott, Mason Ligon, Braelynn Malsbury, Nang Naing, Charlie Hemke, Emma Carlsgaard earned solo awards in the vocal jazz category.

The Coin Wars Fundraiser is taking place this week at Central High School! Students and teachers can donate loose change in their advocate academy bucket to raise money for CHS FOR Club. The winning academy will receive a super-secret prize for all the students and teachers in that academy! Drop off your donation through Friday, April 12—before school and during lunch in the commons, or after school in B110!




Another great day to be an Eagle! Peyton Brust will further his golf career at the collegiate level by signing to play for the University of Jamestown!
