Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) – NEW 2022-2023

The Aberdeen School District will be providing Accidental Damage Protection (APD) for the 2022-2023 school year on school devices.  ADP will cover accidental damage through payment of the technology supply fee ($25).  Students that do not pay their technology fee will not be covered under the ADP Plan.

How it works:

ADP is a basic insurance policy for school provided Chromebooks.  Students will need to pay their technology supply fee prior to Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 5) to be eligible for coverage.   During the school year if the Chromebook is damaged accidentally the device will be repaired under the Accidental Damage Protection Plan.  After the device is returned the student can re-insure with ADP any further repairs for an additional $25.

Rules:  The damage must be accidental.  Students must use the new protective backpacks for transport ($40 dollar value) and the school issued power cord ($50 dollar value) that has been provided for students.

Not Covered Under ADP:

  • Intentional Damage
  • Breakage that results from transport or storage in personal cases
  • Damage from non-school issued power supply
  • Protective backpack replacement
  • Power supply losses
  • Lost or stolen devices
  • Other students Chromebooks or School loaned Chromebooks

Without the technology supply fee payment your student is not covered.  Any damage will result in full charges.

Student can still join the program after Labor Day but with a two-week waiting period and a Chromebook inspection.
