Maria is a JV wrestler who unexpectedly was told she would be our varsity starter against Brandon Valley. She was losing most of the match, but came back to pin her opponent with 2 seconds left! This crucial win helped us win the dual. She also won the 125 JV division the next day in Harrisburg!

Here’s what Coach Paiton Burckhard had to say:
“Taryn Hermansen put on an outstanding performance on Saturday afternoon against the Yankton Gazelles. She was nearly unstoppable offensively, knocking down 12 of her 15 shots totaling 25 points. Hermansen also owned the boards with 10 rebounds, showcasing her all-around impact on the game. Beyond the stat line, she sets the tone with her energy, toughness, and composure, leading by example on every possession, practice and team situation. Taryn continues to be a driving force for our team, providing strong leadership both on and off the court and raising the level of play for everyone around her.”

Congratulations to this week’s Golden Eagle Athlete of the Week, Kenadi Withers!
Kenadi had a phenomenal first weekend of the basketball season. She sparked the team’s offense in both games on Friday and Saturday and was relentless on the boards, grabbing a total of 16 rebounds over the weekend. On Saturday, she recorded a double-double in the game against Rapid City Stevens. Her effort and energy were noticeable, making her a key contributor to the team’s strong start to the season!
