Holgate Band instrument fitting will take place April 22nd from 4-7pm for all incoming HMS 6th graders. The session is "come & go." All future band students need to come to fittings and see which instrument fits them. Not all students can make sounds on all instruments. As a culminating activity for a story read in Mrs. Geyer's 7th-grade ELA and a community service field trip, students visited Avera Mother Joseph, Derian Place, and Bethesda to enjoy conversation with the residents. The kids were great & the residents loved having them visit.
Today Holgate band students performed for guest clinician, Mr. Darcy Brandenburg, from the Fargo School District. Mr. Brandenburg worked with each band offering in the moment feedback, playing tips and notes of encouragement for our students!

Great first indoor meet for the Golden Eagles middle school track team. There were a lot of great placings, a new 8th grade girls 4x160 record, and a few kids who are really close to some records! Should be a great season!

The Aberdeen Public Schools will dismiss at NOON today. The YDC will NOT be able to pick up students today. The Boys & Girls Club, Rideline, and our school buses WILL pick up students at noon.
The Annual South Dakota State Testing has started and runs through Friday, April 11th. Holgate Middle School would greatly appreciate if parents/guardians are willing to donate snacks for students to have while taking their tests. Some possible snack options could include: mints, granola bars, goldfish, fruit snacks, rice krispie bars, etc. We would request that all snacks be individually packaged and peanut free. If your family would like to provide snacks for testing, please have your child bring them to the office. Thank you!!!!
