ABERDEEN, S.D. – Aberdeen Public Schools Teacher Taylor Barbato is excited to be a brand new teacher offering a brand new class at Holgate Middle School.
Barbato is Holgate’s new STEM teacher, and she is teaching Design and Modeling this year. It’s the first STEM class to be offered at Holgate, which is transitioning to STEM from Industrial Technology.
Next year, Barbato will add a Medical Detectives class for seventh and eighth graders. The following year, she will also add Robotics for eighth graders.
This is the first year of teaching for Barbato, who previously worked as an educational assistant at May Overby.
“I’m super excited,” Barbato said. “This is seriously my dream job.”
