The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as the FAFSA, has undergone some changes, and is not the same application that is used to be. Because of this the application window for the 2024-2025 school year will not be opening until sometime in December.
With these new changes comes lots of questions and we want to do what we can to help answer those questions. CHS Student Services is hosting a Financial Aid Night on Thursday, September 28th, during Parent Teacher Conferences at 6:30pm, in the theater. We will be having a speaker from South Dakota Mapping Your Future coming in to present on the FAFSA, discuss the new changes that are taking place, what seniors and parents/guardians can expect as they fill out the FAFSA for the student's freshman year of college, and answer any questions they may have.
If you can, we highly encourage seniors and at least one parent/guardian to attend to get the information first hand. If you are unable to attend, we will be posting a recording of the presentation, along with the PowerPoint that our presenter will be going over, on the Student Services Webpage after Thursday night.
