School Lunch Program

While free meals for all students have been a welcome relief during the COVID-19 pandemic, these benefits ended at the conclusion of the 2021-22 school year. This means all families will need to carry a positive balance in their children's school meal accounts to ensure that their students have the nutrition they need throughout the day to learn.

Families that do not qualify for Free or Reduced Meal Benefits should make a lunch deposit into their child's account either at the school building or at myschoolbucks.com. Keep in mind that you can use this tool to add funds when your child needs them, and even set up automatic deposits!

Some Students Will Still Qualify, But You Must Take Action  If you are concerned that you may not be able to afford school meal prices, we urge you to fill out an application for free or reduced meal benefits as soon as possible. You can find a copy of this application at https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application or contact the District office at 605-725-7105. More information about the school lunch program can be found on the school district's food service page.

Immunization Requirements

State law requires that students enrolled in a public school meet certain immunization requirements. Minimum requirements are defined as the following:

  • Four or more doses of DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) vaccine. One dose must be given after age 4.

  • One dose of Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) given after age 11.

  • Four or more doses of Polio Vaccine, with one dose given after age 4.

  • Two doses of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) given after age 12 months.

  • Two doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox) given after age 12 months.

  • One dose of MCV4 (Meningococcal) given after age 11.

Students should have the required vaccinations prior to beginning middle school. IF your child is 10 years old when entering 6th grade they have 45 days after their 11th birthday to receive the Tdap and MCV4 vaccinations.
