Mrs. Ottenbacher's homeroom was crowned our 2024 Hoopla Day champions! Congratulations to Ms. Stenvig's homeroom for being awarded the Hoopla Day Spirit award!

Hoopla Day was a roaring success!! Students competed in their homerooms all day and we ended the day with relay races against the top 6 homerooms!

Wednesday was Career Day at Simmons Middle School! Eighth graders filled out applications and participated in mock job interviews! #AberdeenPublicSchools #GoEagles 💙💛

Hey everyone! This is it – your last chance to grab those awesome memories! Yearbook sales are wrapping up this week. Money ($15.00) can be brought to the office. Yearbooks will be handed out May 16th, but hurry, because there's only a limited number available.

6th graders in Mrs. Conklin's Design and Modeling classes made marble runs on the walls of the classroom!

Mrs. Conklin and Mrs. Wilkinson's 7th grade classes combined to create boats from cardboard, bubble wrap, straws, toilet paper rolls, and a paper bag. The boat that held the most rubber ducks before sinking was the winner! 22 ducks was the record!

Good afternoon, SMS Parents! The last day of school is Friday, May 17. Our awards program will be at 8:30, and 8th grade recognition will be at 10:00 that morning. Please also note that the first day of school next year is a full day for all students in grades 1-9 on August 20.

🎵 Let's go fly a kite🎵 6th grade Design and Modeling students tested out the kites they made from garbage bags and bamboo sticks!

Students in Mrs. Wilkinson's class had so much fun playing in the end of term MarioKart Tournament! They even got to 3D print trophies!

SMS Parents - yearbook sales are officially underway! They're going for $15.00 each, and we only have 100 still available. If you're interested, don't delay! Students can bring money to their homeroom teacher to purchase a copy. All yearbooks are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't miss out on capturing those memories!

Members of Golden Crew are sidewalk chalking some welcome message for our incoming 5th Graders! Tonight is Popsicle Night for those students and families. Come CHILL with us!

The 6th grade language arts students are working hard on writing, illustrating, and publishing children's books!

As an end of the semester activity 8th Grade FACS participated in Escape the FACS room!

8th grade science STEM challenge- bridge building! It was a great day to 'make connections'.

SMS parents, we will be collecting devices from 6th graders, 7th graders, and students not returning (Chromebook, charger, and bag) at the end of the school year. Current 8th graders will keep their device over the summer and take it with them to CHS at the start of the new school year in August. We recommend that you complete an assessment of your child’s Chromebook. All devices were new this year. If there are issues with your student’s device, we encourage you to send it to your school librarian before the end of the school year so it can be sent for repairs. Insurance expires each year and will need to be purchased again for next school year in August.
