people attended the Foundation's Tour of Homes event
in November, 2009! Many thanks to our
homeowners, decorators, volunteers and guests for
supporting the students of Aberdeen Public Schools!
The 2010 Tour of Homes is scheduled for Sunday, Nov.
14th.
Class Reunion Tidbits . . .|
Class of '47 Develops Scholarship:
The Class of '47 has developed two scholarships for 2010
CHS grads who plan to enroll in elementary/secondary
education or music at NSU next fall.
Class of '49 and Class of '59 Donate to Alumni Room:
"What a great idea and with so much effort, the Abdn
Public Schools Foundation has put into establishing an
Alumni Room!! In a room generously provided by the Park &
Rec. Dept. at our old Central, the preservation of
memorabilia, trophies, awards, photos, yearbooks, etc. is
taking place with the enthusiasm of many volunteers. After
a most impressive tour for the Class of '59 during our
50th reunion this summer, those attending the reunion
voted to donate a $1,000 for a glass display cabinet. Keep
up the good work, we are excited to help this worthy
project".

Class of '85 Challenge
Visual Arts Endowment Challenge:
John (‘85) and
Anastasia Wald initiated the Visual Arts Endowment with an
initial $25,000 gift to the Foundation last fall. John
commented, “It is hard to believe that in 2010 it has been
25 years since we graduated high school? Where does the time
go, and how easy it is to forget where we came from?
CHS gave us our start in life, and now is the time to give
back so that young people of Aberdeen can benefit from a
fine education like we did!” John and Anastasia are
challenging fellow alumni to support this scholarship.
They will generously match $1 for every $1 given - up to
$5,000 for the Visual Arts Scholarship!
