Greetings from the Special Ed Department!  Please continue to explore our site to learn more about the programs we have to offer.

Jan Schochenmaier Our Preschool Coordinator is Jan Schochenmaier, she has been with the Aberdeen School District for 27 years. Her first year in the District was at OM Tiffany and then found her school home to be teaching preschool at Lincoln Elementary and has been there for 26 years. This is will be her 10th year as Preschool Coordinator, along with teaching part-time. Please click for information from Preschool reverse inclusion preschool program.
Deb Roettele

The Special Education Coordinator is Deb Roettele. Deb has been with Aberdeen School District since 2000-01 school years, 11 years. Deb is a graduate of Northern State University with a double major of elementary education and special education-specific learning disability. Her minor is special education in the area of visually handicapped. Deb worked for most of her career in rural school special education programs. She worked two years at ASPIRE also. Beth Peschong Beth Peschong, the Speech Coordinator, has been employed with the Aberdeen School District since 1999, three of those years were at Henry Neill and then she found her home at Lincoln and has been there 10 years. This is her 7th year as the Speech Language Coordinator. For 31 years Beth has worked in various settings as a Speech Pathologist. Please click for Speech information.
Roseanne Malsom Rosanne Malsom is the Deaf Education Coordinator, she has been employed with the Aberdeen School District since 1990 as the Deaf Educator.  Simmons Elementary has always been her home school.  Rosanne is certified in Early Childhood Education and has a SKI-HI Parent Educator and a Reading Specialist Degree. Please click for Deaf ED information.

Request an Interpreter

Those requesting an interpreter or other auxiliary aids should contact the building principal one week prior to the activity. Such activities would include parent/teacher conferences, meetings, programs and extracurricular events related to the Aberdeen Public School. Arrangements can be made in person, through email, or by phone. If contacting the principal by phone you can access Relay South Dakota by dialing 711 inside of South Dakota, or dialing toll-free (800) 877-1113 from anywhere outside of South Dakota.
